Crinan Canal - day two - part two

We went for a walk back along the Canal as bird watchers.
Bird watching mode

The path that runs beside the canal is alive with birds and flowers. We saw Blackcap, a Raven and lots of warblers which we were unable to identify.

View from the hide

There was a bird hide looking over the estuary at the head of Loch Crinan, which gave us a chance to watch Canada Geese and their goslings, pairs of Mergansers fishing for crabs, Oyster Catchers and Redshank.

The estuary

Beside the path we found some orchids which I think may be the Early Purple

Early Purple Orchid?

Then it was back to the boat, supper and bed  - another busy day!
