Craobh Haven to Dunstaffnage Marina , Oban

It was an easy start to catch the tide so left at 1230 hrs. Bright sunshine F3/4 E wind.
Leaving Craobh Haven

Had a lovely sail down to Ardluing Point with 2 reefs in the sails out past Shuna Island.

We turned at Ardluing Point and then up the Sound of Luing.
The wind was strengthening all the time with some strong gusts. Hilary spent time spotting Luing Cattle on the shore as we sailed up the Luing Sound

The Grey Dogs

By this time the wind had gone round to the NE and strengthened, we passed the Grey Dogs and Fladda light still in a bright sunshine but with the stronger wind now from the NE I decided to lower the sails and motor for second half of the journey.

We were passed by the Oban lifeboat who slowed to watch us then powered off into the distance.

Kererra Sound

Up Kerrera Sound through Oban bay and on to Dunstaffnage, arriving at 1730 hrs.
I made a terrible mess of getting on the pontoon as the I wasn't use to dealing with a strong wind but recovered without any damaged and we were safely tied up for the night.
Glad to have arrived safely as I am sure the wind was stronger than was forecast. We enjoyed the first half of the journey but the second half was a bit unpleasant.
Something about taking the rough with the smooth!
